MA says, "Frank Buchman and Bill Wilson, like every cult leader, understood this. Even most AAs understand this, at least intuitively – which is why new sheep are told to “quit thinking” and “fake it ’til you make it” when they enter the program. Until a person is fully indoctrinated into any religion, the lunacy of it sticks out like a sore thumb. Once we are in it, normalcy is turned on its head, and we don’t realize this fact. It is simple to see simply by looking at other religions. Mormons believe that God is in the form of of a man, who resides on another planet with his many wives. They believe that native Americans are the lost tribe of Israel, and that they have magic underwear which will protect them from harm. Most of us (I’m assuming the ex-drinkers who read this blog are not Mormon) can see the absurdity of this, and we can even get a chuckle out of the whole thing. My sister even shook her head in disbelief when telling me how “Mormons think they can baptize dead people!” Of course, she never thinks to consider the idea of talking snakes and burning bushes and virgin births, to be odd, because she it happens to be her religion. Likewise, AAs do not, cannot, see the crazy in their scripture of white light experiences and spiritual faith healing."
You know, MA? I'm really impressed that you watched Bill Maher's movie Religious and enjoyed it. I enjoyed it too.
But to make the link between an attempted murderer and pedophiles and people of the Mormon religion... is fucking wacko. And to pass this story off as your conclusions and your sister miraculously filled in the "Religious" story line word for word, bullshit! That's verbal plagerism. I cut and paste, but I don't make it part of my fucking drunkalogue. Get a new fucking story. Ummm... how about start with the fucking Truth? Here's MAs drunkalogue; he bought one, spilled one, and gave one away.
I start reading about how an A.A. hero tries to kill some damned pedophile, and I get this story about a guy who committed murder and testimony of those in A.A. who had heard him fess up to it couldn't be used... just like some kind of clergy/penitent privilege or some shit.
From the New York Times, "The case went unsolved for four years, until members of Mr. Cox's A.A. group -- which he joined after the killings -- came forward to say that he had told them he thought he might have committed the crimes. Several of those A.A. members testified at his trial."
MA, you moral derelict. What a stupid story and a misuse of my time. I liked the movie Religious, but it wasn't the end-all be-all final word on the answers to the Universe. At least Bill Maher has the balls to be open or say IDK to the possibility to a Deity. He just thinks that people do some wacko stuff to seek power and control by the manipulation of this wonderous Source ... in the sky.
But where the hell does MA get off bashing Mormons, A.A., and probably Moonies and Scientologists, if he got the chance... to further his points about A.A. and the vehicle it uses for its established success? You don't see the likes of MA picking on A.A. at an A.A. convention, I'll tell you that right now. You know why? Because MA is a pussy. It's easy to hide behind a keyboard and spin this shit. Reminds me of a shirt my brother-in-law wears;
People are more violently opposed to fur than leather because it's easier to harass rich old ladies than bikers
MA says, " I mean, if you are deluded, and your goal is to snipe off a pedophile, randomly spraying bullets into a crowd of AAs is like shooting fish in a barrel. You’re bound to pick off at least one, maybe two."
There's someone who sort of came into the Stinkin' Thinkin' scene... perhaps right about where I faded out... between about August 2nd to about August 12th.
ReplyDeleteHe's been accused of being me. He's much more educated and mor mature than I. He's got about 16 years on me and has been in and around A.A. for something like 11 months. He seems to be very inteligent, mature, has had a very positive experience in A.A., and is teflon to the insults being hurled at him at Stinkin' Thinkin'.
I see absolutely nothing... and I mean NOTHING... that should get him in hot water over there... except that he's not anti/XA. I don't see why he's there, honestly... except that he's just not bothered or affected by their juvenile rants.
So, now in their new "Forum Experiment", they are trying to rattle MA and ftg's cages to ban him! Wow!
Then MA come on with a new post "Just a Quick Note", describing why the blog ST got started between he and ftg and why it's such a vast and honorable resource for wayward and mistreated anti/XAers and why he and ftg are so nobel as to allow for a place without censorship and how letting the always wacko and unjust proAAer rant and how they will always hang themselves with the rope they are so freely given by those superior folks at ST.
What a pompous ass and legend of his own mind! As if you stand on some moral hilltop looking down on the likes of the A.A. fellowship.
You guys are just a breeding ground for radical atheism and your mockery and hatred for a group of folks mind their own business is despicable.
How dare I make these claims, right? Well let me google my own name over at ST and see what comes up;
A little fun with an A.A. crazy (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/06/12/a-little-fun-with-an-aa-crazy/); a shot at Rob B
The EstAAblishment Clause (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/04/26/the-estaablishment-clause/); the banning of Karl
Administration (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/03/16/administration/); the banning of Tony J
Cuda (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/03/06/cuda/); and article that pretty much states that you are welcome here and we do agree on somethings, but since we aren't interested in the Truth and how great A.A. is, go away now!
Quote of the Day (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/02/27/quote-of-the-day-17/); Tony J's short day in the sun
Quote of the day (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/02/21/quote-of-the-day-13/); my day in the sun
Part 2;
ReplyDeleteMore fun with numbers (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/02/09/more-fun-with-numbers/); MA trying to challenge me in math... the Harvard Stock Broker Bill W. type that he is... allegedly
Explaining the 5% (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2010/02/08/explaining-the-5/); where MA just burps out the same rhetoric that Raynsny does... the same garbage and misinterpretation from Agent Orange
Quote of the Week;McGowdog (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2009/06/07/quote-of-the-week-mcgowdog/); I said something that they call the Bait and Switch. They make a point, but they basically manipulated my statement and mocked my mode of recovery. This is basically where I came to ST to defend my honor and basically engage in building a faction against the bullshit they spew daily. A.A. shouldn't need my defending, nor does God. But to utter that spraying bullets at a crowd of A.A.s is likely to net you a sexual preditor or two is not what I would consider to be cool. Some people don't like when you steal their lunch money. For MA to piss this crap out is one thing. But those pissants over there agree with him and commend him... while fashoning themselves as the future in addictions recovery alternatives. It's laughable. In the real world for me, this bullshit is like a piece of fly shit on a stained glass window.
The Crazies over at Sober Recovery; ( http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2009/06/07/the-crazies-at-sober-recovery-real-alcoholics-the-big-book-and-selective-altruism/); when we were still all over at Sober Recovery, it was brought to my attention that some crumb snatchers from cyber-space were quoting us and mocking us
Having fun with 13th Stepping (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2009/05/16/having-fun-with-13th-stepping/); this was a conversation that I was having with some anti/XAer female about the abuse women incur in A.A. and I questioned her claims and was taken out of context and was accused of abusing her, so I left ST for a time and started my own blog so I would have a safe home base where I could start observations of ST without having to take on all 35+ of them at one time
Dealing with the Krazy (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2009/05/16/having-fun-with-13th-stepping/); another attack on me at ST
Ironic Quote of the Day; (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2009/05/11/ironic-quote-of-the-day/); more juvenile attacks on me from MA
Welcome to ST, McGowdog (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2009/05/11/welcome-to-stinkin-thinkin-mcgowdog/); welcome? Yeah, right.
Where would I be without A.A.? The Wackos at Sober Recovery; (http://stinkin-thinkin.com/2009/05/09/where-would-i-be-without-aa-the-wackos-at-sober-recovery/); This one actually predates me at Sober Reoovery or ST. They picked on Sober Recovery before I got there and would probably have still been terrorizing the place had the likes of me not stood up to their bullshit.
Notice those fucktards don't hassle Sober Recovery anymore? Sober Recovery has been gutted for the most part and is more sterile than a Progressive Insurance commercial.
At least I didn't belong to SR when that thread started, but I sure got involved after I came aboard. Jim, Emily, and Mark were involved with that one as well.
ReplyDeleteAh... the good old days...
