God Is

So I'm trying to make my case for "God Is" on youtube to a guy who just don't think A.A. nor religion has done any good on this planet whatsoever.

So trying to post on youtube is sort of like trying to get Wendy Williams (How You doin'?) into a #2 bikini. It's like trying to eat a good southern barbeque dinner with one napkin. 500 words or less comes pretty quick. And when I'm trying to describe my concept of God, the words come pretty quick too. I had to dump it onto a word doc and here's what came up. Hope someone somewhere appreciates or gets something out of this;

So... you don't believe in any kind of Order of the Universe? No Law of Nature? No Intelligent Design which put this thing together?

I can understand not believing in the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, or even Santa Claus... but we humans have a basic need for worship.

I can also understand being bent and done with religion, I guess. I was never abused by religion nor forced to do anything with regards to religion nor had any God crammed down my throat. Not as a child growing up and not now in A.A.

A.A.s God is about the most innocuous thing I know.

I believe that science should be science and Spirit should be Spirit. David R Hawkins has a way of measuring things that would seem otherwise unquantifiable. But it just so happens that states of consciousness are measurable. I believe in a God which is merely That which manifests our very existence. You exist. You must. I'm responding to you right now. I exist too. In the realm of form, we are limited to what our minds can "see" through our... I think... 5 God-given senses.

For example, our minds cannot differentiate truth from false. That's why a lie is so easy to sell on this planet. But our "awareness", which is beyond ego (or karma) and form, knows. Things are measurable. Jesus is Truth. Mohammed is true. He did reincarnate. Jesus knew that John the Baptist had reincarnated (from Elias, Mathew 11:7-14 and 17:10-13). Jesus is the only being the planet had ever known that came right straight from "heaven".

Religion itself does kind of suck. It only translates to about 380 on the energy scale of consciousness. The New Testament and the A.A. book? 540. A hit of crack or a nice bottle of bourbon? 600. But that false high of 600 is very fleeting. To get to bliss by the practice of spiritual living is more permanent and lasting.

The human mind at its very best? 499. To go from the mind to the heart gets you to 500 and above. The world consciousness collectively? About 204, maybe 210. That level above 200 is right where Truth and integrity and Power begins and force and the demonic states of consciousness, such as shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, and pride drop off.

Why... after thousands of years have we humans not advanced too far, if at all? Well, the ego, or our instinctual and animalistic brains are tied to our forebrain and it's just sort of the way it is. Our fears, our pride, our shame, our stupid petty jealousy and resentments can keep us doing stupid idiotic things and fighting for the wrong causes. You look back at ancient Egyptian societies where they had brilliant minds doing incredible feats of science, physics, architecture, construction, art, cosmology, etc. And they were supposedly fettered by superstition and religious dogma.

Religious dogma reared its ugly head but was thwarted by the advancements in the 1400s, 1500s, 1600, 1700, etc. As religious persecution started to subside for mathematical and other scientific advancements, we moved from the realm of the spiritual to the realm of the material. Benjamin Franklin, a brilliant scientist and radical politician, invented many things to make his and others' lives easier. He fully admitted that he didn't think these ideas came from him. He likened these ideas to come from the air of the times and if he wasn't the one who discovered something or invented something, someone else in the world would have at that very time.

But where have we gone with all of our great material advancements? An Ipod that stores 4000 songs. A 52" led TV or a 46" LCD TV with 1080p and 120 Hz? A car that goes from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and 60-0 in 3.1 seconds? A car that has a sticky accelerator and crashes into lakes, walls, and buildings? We've been to the moon... I think. We can comprehend that there are stars which dwarf the size of ... not only our sun, but the earth's orbit around the sun. If the earth was a golf ball... I won't bore you with Louie Giglio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKMw1ndl-EY), but...

We've gone too far the materialistic way I think. The planet's gotten too small and there are over 6 billion of us. Us. That's right. We're all in this together, whether you/we like it or not. People are selfish fucks and we're looking for a better way. The one thing I can do is get out of my head and learn a better way. Some of us are inherently caring and generous. They were just sort of wired correctly. Some of us feel we're alcoholic and we have certain defects that we can no longer live with. We're looking for a way to treat our inner character spiritually. It does work. But are you implying that you know a better way? Let's here it.

  1. Hey, Dog, here's the problem as I see it: As trite and as condenscending as it sounds, this really, truly is a situation in which for those who get it, no explanation is necessary, and for those who don't, no explanation will suffice. You can't talk, argue, or prove someone into belief in or experience of -- or even possible openness to belief in or experience of -- God.

You can talk, write, film, whatever you want in whatever venue/media you want, and it ain't gonna happen. You're gonna get frustrated and exhausted and angry, your audience is gonna get frustrated and exhausted and angry...and God is not gonna get served. In fact, a friend of mine once gave me a little sticker that puts it like this: "Never try to teach a pig to sing -- it wastes your time and annoys the pig."

If you really want to help this person, forget about "convincing" him; just pray for him instead -- and for heaven's sake, don't tell him you're praying for him -- that just pisses those kinda folks off!

  2. Yeah I guess you're right.

I was just inspired to whip that out.

Why does anybody write anything on the internet?

We can just sit here and pray at each other. I just have this hope that one person on the planet will be inspired and see what I see.
