  1. Awww. What a guy! I'll not snub you anymore as you've finally done something constructive with your sorry ass life. I'm (sniff) so proud.....

  2. Yeah! I spent 2 hours every day at work practicing backing an 18 wheel 8 speed around my makeshift obstacle course.

That paid off. I about aced my cdl driving test.

But a week later, I had to take my operator test, stayed up all night long prior to the test, and just found out I passed, and will now get a bump in pay and a promotion. My cert lasts 2 years.

Good to see yous in here.

  3. Nice work Patrick! Post some pictures of your "makeshift obstacle course" if it still exists. My mind has a strange mental image of what this looks like, part Gary Larson Far Side, part Mad Max Thunderdome.

I could not be a long distance driver. The part of my brain that remembers travel directions is toast. I would be lost without my GPS. Put me in the woods though, and I navigate fine. Go figure.

  4. Ok, Now that this is all over with, what are you going to be doing? Long distance stuff, scaring people in Pueblo, driving 18 wheelers to noon meetings? I thought you were working for a water treatment plane or something. What's that to do with OTR driving?

  5. Most municipalities require a CDL to work in their utility, street, or waste water departments. I had a CDL up until last year. I used to be a backhoe operator on underground construction crews, building infrastructure for fiber optics & telecom. I needed a CDl because occasionally I would need to move my own equipment. I don't need a CDL for my current job and have no desire to be a truck driver, so I didn't bother to get my DOT physical and when I renewed my driver's licence, I didn't renew the CDL.

  6. You guys are pretty much on the money.

The only time I leave the grounds is to take loads to the landfill. I do some driving to the drying beds via the tandem dump truck, the tractor-trailer Brigadere, or I use the front loader to load the trucks.

Now that the testing is done, I can go back to reading a book or something.

  8. Well thank you M. I happen to be generous btw. By practicing a spiritual life, I don't get tripped up by money. But today, I found out our lot depreciated by ten grand. This will require some spiritual work now. But in the meantime, GD sob economy!
