Poor sponsorship and the 12 steps... a good thread at Sober Recovery

It's a great thread because it shows how some newbie, namely one SoberHal9, can come into the forum and rip off a thread and some experience in A.A. and it totally rips the covers off of the bunch of them MOTRs.
.
The first person to remotely agree with Hal's stance is one pmv... until he agrees with Robbyrobot.
.
The next person to show credence to Hal's post is Leadfoot.
.
Hal basically says that his first sponsor sucked, held him back, etc. His next sponsor took him through the steps promptly, it worked out great, then he noticed what a bunch of whiney wussy bitches hang out in A.A. and that most folks in A.A. aren't even real alky.
.
Then everybody at SR pretty much got all butt-hurt.
.
Why? Because it hit home! They are a bunch of MOTR whiney bitches, the lot of them!
.
Great thread, newbie!

  1. Not a whole lot of time to write now but I had to point out the utterly despicable aspect of AA that surfaced in the very next post.
    "It's none of my business".
Well if it isn't your business as a member of AA, who's business is it. My Sponsor told me that there's only three times to volunteer to talk at an AA meeting. One of those times is to correct a wrong. When you see something being done against AA Principle directed towards a newcomer that came to AA for help, we have a responsibility to speak up.

  2. There's some good that can be found. S.R. Saves me a trip to my local Alano Club when I'm in need of some bullshit. I simply don't get it. How the hell can one join a program that's directed by means of written text and do the opposite. Then claim the opposite is still the program? I guess it's all in the part where someone with less than stellar comprehension skills confused “As a suggested program of recovery” with “The Steps are just suggestions”. I can well imagine that it comes from treatment centers. They've charged their clients lots of money to sit around a room full of other weak minded individuals that have been brainwashed to think that rehab is the solution. They then send them to AA where we have a working solution in place and have them challenge our solution with theirs. Now AA is full of rehab subjects that think it's acceptable to sit in a room and pump sunshine up each others asses for an entire hour.
When I suggested that we list our meeting in Ault as “Closed” one of the Old Timers (eye roll) asked what the difference was. After 36 years in the program I had to explain it to him. I had to pull someone off to the side when this “Old Timer” suggested they write something good about themselves in their inventory. As if he's never opened his book. Truth be told, I've seen his book. A third edition first printing. Brand Spanking New. I'd love to have it for my collection.
It appears that this attitude in AA where you can do whatever the hell you want is nothing new. It started in the 70s with the disco era. The times where it was deemed to be cool to open your shirt three buttons to show everyone your hairy chest and silver coke spoon necklace. It was also cool to go to rehab. Certainly you remember the countless rehab commercials on television? Thank God they're going away. Thank God for Gunthar and Orange too. They do their best to keep people out of AA. Maybe in the near future rehabs and Court Systems across America will stop sending us people. These people that have infiltrated a place they don't belong and spread like a virus.

  3. Your 36 year sober guy isn't. He's got 6 months repeated 72 times. God I love that one! You're right. Praise be to Massive, Godlessweasle, Agent Orange, Gunthar2013, Mike Blamedenial, Deconstructor, Bugsworth aka Madeline, Keepcomingback aka Veritas aka KyrieEleison or whatever her newest alias is, Dee74, etc. I go to a meeting away from my home group anymore and Ill I do is fight with them or raise the Devil in them like I'm the one spouting some kind of blastphamy.

    Fuck A.A. ... or what it's become.

  4. Apparently I've upset someone at SR

    "

You have been banned for the following reason:
    No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never"

Maybe if I went out and drank they'd welcome me back with hugs and kisses.
